Newport First Christian Church
Missions Program
We believe in Faith Promise

Faith Promise is a program that the Lord has been using to successfully raise money for missions at Newport First Christian Church. It has worked effectively in this church for 17 years.

A faith promise is a promise to God to give a specific amount of money to missions in the coming year. In making this promise, you commit yourself to trust in God to supply you with the resources to fulfill this commitment.

Some people use the opportunity to commit themselves to giving a certain amount from resources they have or expect to have.Another way to make a faith promise is to commit yourself to give money that you do not have, but will give to missions if God provides. This involves praying that the Lord provides you money that you can use for missions. It also involves commitment so that when the money is received, you will use it for the purpose for which it has been promised. It involves looking for opportunities to see how God will raise money through your faith.

Some people have looked for opportunities to raise additional money whether through a garage sale, selling something they have made, or doing odd jobs to raise money. Some people have reordered their priorities and stopped spending money on something so they could give it tomissions. Others have shared remarkable experiences of how they received unexpected money. Some people have received unanticipated refunds from insurance policies or from a previous error in their social security that the government corrected. One person found a hat that had a lot of money in it. He turned it in to the sheriff’s office but no one claimed it, and he was awarded the money. In short, there are a number of ways to make a faith promise commitment.

Faith Promise is a once a year opportunity that comes each year in the fall. In addition to Faith Promise, the church tithes 12% of the general fund offering to missions. Between the church tithe to missions and faith promise, Newport Christian Church raises on average about $40,000 per year for missions! This past year $48,910.88 was raised.

We encourage you to look at Faith Promise as an opportunity to grow in your relationship with God and support missions at the same time.
